The Mission

Without entering the gates of "the city of righteousness, the faithful city," the mission of the Instauratio Magna foundation may be stated as follows. The West is characterized by two achievements—republicanism (free government) and philosophy. Science plays a key role in both and their unity may be regarded as representing human perfection. They live together and die together. The United States was founded on these, the source of which is ancient Greece, a kind of mysterious accident or an enigmatic formula. The mission of the foundation is to help preserve that accident and understand that formula.
